The Building Blocks Program at BLDC was created with our youngest dancers in mind. It has been used and fine-tuned by our faculty of experienced ADULT instructors for the past twenty years. Our class structure promotes social skills, discipline, independence and most importantly, self-esteem.
Our age appropriate syllabus will introduce your child to the many benefits dancing has to offer. Children will build stronger, more coordinated bodies by expanding on basic behaviors like skipping and jumping while being introduced to a broad range of dance forms. Over the course of the dance season, all Building Blocks students are taught tap, ballet, jazz, tumbling basics and creative movement. In order to maximize the progress made in our classes, we use a rotating class structure. As the name suggests, our Building Blocks Program is proven to prepare our students for further training in all disciplines. *NEW FOR 2024-2025* - Extended Building Blocks Classes Extended Building Blocks classes will have similar structures and goals as the current Building Blocks program with the added benefits of a longer class time and the ability to learn two dances for the Spring Recital. Students will learn both a tap dance and ballet dance for their performance. |
