AWARDS CEREMONIES

The award ceremonies are noted on the competition schedule. BLDC dancers are required to be present for all awards ceremonies which include their dances. BLDC dancers should be in a costume or wearing a BLDC Adidas team warm-up and dance shoes (tap shoes not recommended). Dancers should not bring any extra items on stage with them for the ceremony.

"JUST FOR FUN" EXTRAS - Not based on scores.

PAC Attack Challenge
  • Routines are nominated live by the judging panel based on entertainment value and must be a group routine to be considered. PAC Attack Challenge nominees have fun energy on stage and get the audience moving. The nomination and award applies to all age groups and levels.
  • It is likely to see Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, Tap, Clogging, Open, Acro, etc. chosen for the PAC Attack Challenge.
  • It is not likely to see Ballet, Lyrical, Pointe, etc. nominated for the PAC Attack Challenge.  The PAC Attack Challenge encourages loud cheering, clapping, and noisemakers. These styles may find it difficult to hear the music or the audience may feel it is inappropriate to cheer loudly for these styles.
  • There may be a limit of PAC Attack nominations for an individual studio. This is to avoid changing issues and keep the PAC Attack Challenge at a reasonable length.
  • Routines selected will perform in the PAC Attack Challenge - see schedule for times.

PAC Attack Call Back
  • Soloists registered in the Junior, Pre-Teen, Teen, and Senior age groups in all levels are automatically entered.
  • This is a performance competition. Judges are looking for truly captivating performers on stage. Following their solo, the judges will cue the lights and sirens. All PAC Attack Call Back soloists are winners. They will be included in an improv opportunity to show off.
  • Soloists should plan on packing nice looking dance attire to wear in case they are selected for the improv opportunity.
  • Soloists selected will improv during the PAC Attack Call Back - see schedule for times.
