Pease contact us if you are interested in our full-time
competition programs for the 2023-2024 school-year.
Schedule & Classes:
The amount of time each dancer is committed to varies greatly from person to person. It depends first on the number of dances the dancer is invited to be a part of based on the audition process. The time commitment of BLDC team members ranges from 4 -15+ hours and 2-4 days per week. The required class time is listed on each dancer’s team invitation form.
Team members' schedules include both technique classes and rehearsal classes. In a technique class, dancers do not work on choreography for performance. The classes are focused on skill building, strength, flexibility and overall technical growth. Taking dedicated technique classes throughout the entire year gives the dancers the opportunity to work on skills that are included their competition dances, as well as skills that they are not yet ready to do on stage. Technique classes are essential for a dancer's development, continuously preparing them for the next step in their training.
There is a rehearsal class specifically dedicated to each competition dance. In these classes, the dancers learn the choreography they will do at the competitions and the recital. Guided by their instructor, dancers work as a team to prepare their dances for the stage. In rehearsals, we focus on performance development, consistency, precision, proper execution of the choreography and artistry.
Team Participation:
Minimum of 2 competition dances required - Tap and Jazz
Option to audition for Hip-Hop, Lyrical/Contemporary and Ballet teams
Option to add additional groups of the same discipline
Option to audition for Solos, Duos/Trios
(The number of dances ranges from 2 - 15 dances per person, depending on placement and the decision of each family.)
Ultimately, it is your choice to decide how many additional classes you would be willing to commit to.
