Technique is the basis of all fundamentals of dance, from holding your body correctly while performing, to executing skills properly in a routine. Every dance team uses technique. It is always there—in practice, in performance, and especially in competition. Each dance move requires technique: turns, leaps, kicks, extension, etc. Strong technique extends across all areas of dance, regardless of the style of your routine and is essential for a competitive team.
