Summer Dance Classes

Body Language Dance Company offers a wide variety of dance programs during our summer session. From 3-day dance camps to 1-week summer intensives, we offer something for all students who would like to continue their dance experience through the summer months. This is also an excellent time for new students to try a class at BLDC before enrolling for the school-year.

Class sizes are limited to ensure an appropriate teacher to student ratio.

A $5 summer registration fee will be added to all new accounts.

Summer Courses

KinderKids Combination Classes are a great way to start your child's dance experience or continue their dance education through the summer. Classes include tap and creative movement, incorporating basic ballet skills. Choose one or both sessions.
Shoes: Ballet shoes and tap shoes (tap shoes cannot be purchased at Payless because they damage the dance floors)
Attire: Pink tights and a leotard of any color

In this introductory ballet class, students will enjoy exploring the principles of ballet in a fun format perfect for young dancers. The class will cover basic proper terminology, classroom etiquette, stretching and strengthening techniques and movement exercises designed to improve coordination and gracefulness. Choose one or both sessions.
Shoes: Pink Ballet Shoes - can be leather or canvas
Attire: Pink tights and a leotard of any color

Fairytale Ballet: Ages 4-7

Acrobatic Dance, or acro as it is commonly referred to by dancers and dance professionals, is the beautiful fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements.
Acro technique includes balancing, limbering and tumbling and is based in flexibility, contortion and strength. Body Language Dance Company is certified in the Acrobatic Arts curriculum.
No shoes
Attire: Dance wear (leotard, top and shorts, etc.) Nothing baggy.

THEME CAMPS

These 3-day camps are sure to please your child! Each fun-filled camp will include dance, activities and crafts all with a specific theme.

Princess Dreams: Ages 2.5-8

Does your dancer dream of being a real princess? Each day the dancers explore a different Disney princess, learn a dance, make a craft, enjoy story time and much more. Make all of your dancer’s princess dreams come true and join us for “Princess Dreams” dance camp!
Shoes: Ballet shoes or jazz shoes. Students can wear socks or go barefoot if the student does not have dance shoes.
Attire: Dance wear or athletic wear in which the student is comfortable dancing.

Moana: Ages 3-6

Aloha! Come dive into our “Moana” dance camp! Students will stretch their imaginations through creative dance sequences and movement games inspired by the music and story of the movie. Students will also enjoy story-related arts and crafts.

Poppy is having a party and you’re invited! Join us for an exciting and colorful camp as we dance and party with the Trolls soundtrack. This camp will incorporate dance, games, and sparkling crafts!

Each day students will discover their hidden talents on the dance floor. Students will explore various dance styles, including jazz, hip-hop and tap.
Shoes: Clean sneakers, jazz shoes or ballet shoes, tap shoes (optional). Students can wear socks or go barefoot if the student does not have dance shoes. (Tap shoes cannot be purchased at Payless because they damage the dance floors.)

Glow Party: Ages 7-10

Light up your summer at our “Hip-Hop Glow Party”! Dancers learn Hip Hop choreography to today’s top stars while dancing in the dark with their glow gear!

Movie Dance Camp Ages 5-8

It’s time for a summer blockbuster! We will dance & play games to everyone’s favorite soundtracks. Join us as we explore various dance styles including jazz, tap and lyrical.

Adult Classes

This is the perfect informal way to get into dance. The variety of classes makes it easy to jump right in at any stage of your experience. Never danced before, no problem. Want to get back into dance after several years? No worries. Our Adult classes are offered in a stress free environment!
Attire for Adult Classes: Dance wear or athletic wear in which the student is comfortable dancing.

Plan for Progress Summer Workshop:

This workshop is designed to help your competition dancer learn how to stay motivated and move forward during the summer months. With guidance, dancers will set personal goals and make a plan to reach those goals. They will create an age-appropriate goal notebook and calendar to use to keep track of their progress.
